CANADIAN singer Dave Battah is often mistaken for the legendary Rod Stewart.
He has similar qualities to the famous rocker, including facial features, blond locks and signature gritty voice.
This natural ability to look and even sound like the original has earned Battah a full-time career as his impersonator.
“I really wasn’t a Rod fan in the beginning, but after I started performing in tribute shows then I really started to see that he is a really fun character, and that his high energy really attracts people,” Battah said.
To master Stewart, Battah has spent many hours studying and practising his every move, style and manner.
“In the early 90s I would go to his shows,” Battah said.
“I still go to his shows.
“I would watch how he said certain things and the way he arranged his shows.”
Battah has performed as a Rod Stewart impersonator all over the world for more than 15 years and has returned to Australia for his Forever Rod tour.
He will perform his latest show at Castle Hill RSL on Saturday.
