Police officers have comforted a family after their Logan home was razed by fire on Monday morning.
Six fire crews were called to the Cheviot Street property in Greenbank about 11.30am to find the home engulfed by flames.
It is believed the family home was occupied by 11 people, including eight children, all of whom have been accounted for.
Much of the house collapsed as the blaze took hold of the building, leaving nothing but its charred hull and a pile of twisted metal.
Witnesses have told media at the scene the house burned to the ground within 40 minutes.
Police will investigate the cause of the fire, although arson is not suspected at this stage.
“All residents have been accounted for,” a police spokeswoman said.
“But two pet dogs may not have survived.”
Police and firefighters remain at the scene.
